A joint initiative between the Indian Hockey Federation (“IHF”) and Nimbus Sport, World Series Hockey™ was conceived with the objective of reinvigorating the sport of Hockey in India and creating a financially self sustaining ecosystem for Hockey to thrive and grow to become the “sport of choice” for young Indians.

An annual event, World Series Hockey™ will feature “city–based” teams playing against each other in a “home and away” league, culminating into a multi header playoff to determine the World Series Hockey™ Champion.

Some of the key features of the Event are:

• A league featuring the finest players of India and from across the world.
• Multi-city league on a franchisee-based model, beginning with 8 teams from across India.
• Players to be allocated to teams based on a ‘Draft’ system, modelled successfully by various other sporting\leagues globally.
• 200 players from India and across the world are expected to participate in the inaugural edition of the Event
• Each World Series Hockey™ match will be produced LIVE for broadcast
• The Event will be televised LIVE across 30 countries on multiple media platforms.
